Collection: Raymond Ouellet: Chairs, Tabourets and Sculptures

The catalogue presents eight of the sixteen chairs built from 2017 to the present, tabourets from August 2021 to the present and sculptural pieces from May 2020 to the present. All Chairs, Tabourets and Sculpture are made either entirely of ash, oak, mahogany or beech, or combined ash and oak, or ash and mahogany and finished with two coats of satin or glossy varnish. 

Some pieces are categorised as Interactive Sculpture (IS): a table-top work made up of sculptural elements that are freestanding or placed on a base. Unlike traditional sculpture, however, the elements are not permanently attached.  By choosing to interact with the piece, you become the artist actually "creating" the sculpture:  it's simply a matter of placing the elements you want, where you want, how you want them displayed.

All works have RJO, the title of the work, and the date it was made burnt under the arms or seat of the Chairs and Tabourets or under the Sculptures.
